I looked into gender selection. For about $18K I can choose the gender of my baby. Leave it to me to write to the doctors and ask if I can get twins... One of each. They told me their twin success rate of both genders is only 18%... Then how in the world did Brad and Angelina, Jen and Marc, Nancy Grace, Julia Roberts ALL have one boy and one girl at the same time?... COME ON! Don't try to tell me that's just a coincidence they've all had twins... And ALL of them being one boy and one girl! Give me a break! Ok, maybe it has to do with the fact that they're famous multi-millionaires but still!Trying to find a cheaper way, I read yams could be linked to twins. I HATE yams but if it'll get me twins I may start eating up! There's also always fertility drugs, but then I risk the chance of having quintuplets. I love John and Kate's kids but I don't think we could handle THAT!
If you hear of anything that could get me twins, no matter how silly, let me know!

Taking fertility drugs can increase the chance of you having twins.
You can also try Fertilitea and FertiliAid.
Some herbs can also help such as:
red raspberry leaf and chaste tree berry are most used for increased chances(by the lady) along with green tea, nettle leaf, ladies mantle and evening primrose. Some people also think that Folate (Folic Acid) and Calcium tablets help. Make sure to get a Calcium tablet that actually breaks down and absorbs into your body, many calcium tablets do not and interestingly enough can show up on xrays. I also know a really good herb lady who is also a midwife. I did not get the above info from her, I can give you her number though and you can talk with her about it if you like she may have better herbal suggestions, and every body is different too.
Also a recent study showed that "mothers with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 or higer were significantly more likely to have twin."
And I found this that I thought was interesting.
". Diet: Yams & Dairy
No one is quite sure why, but the Yoruba tribe in West Africa has the highest rate of twinning in the world. A study concluded that the mother's diet was the cause, being high in cassava, a type of yam or sweet potato. The peelings of this vegetable are thought to contain a chemical that causes hyperovulation. In addition, a 2006 study found that women who consume dairy are five times as likely to have twins."
So there is a good start for you, my hairstylist just had twins one boy and one girl. I always thought twins would be very hard but fun too
Sarah, this is awesome! thanks!!
I had boy/girl twins ten months after I got married. At one of my (numerous) ultrasounds, the tech told me that "natural" twins can occur the first ovulation cycle after being on hormonal birth control for many years. The theory is that after being suppressed for so long your body goes into hyperdrive. Also, 50% of twins are boy/girl whether they are natural or fertility-induced.
Um, is this a joke?
I tripped on your website and thought I'd say "hi!" Very cute layout, nice job! I just noticed that someone wrote that if you have dairy in your diet you're 5 times more likely to have twins. That's not true. If you eat dairy 5 times a DAY, you're more likely to have twins. I'm sure you already know that though :)
Baby dust to you!
I wanted a baby so badly and it took two years before I finally became pregnant. Unfortunately, my son was born with a lot of problems, but I do love him so very-very much. I hope you find yourself pregnant someday and that you don't even think twice about having twins, a boy or a girl. I hope you focus clearly on having a healthy baby. That's all that's really important ...I know this for a fact. We have a website, too! Come visit sometime! All the best, Laura

Baby dust to you!
I actually wrote a piece about the topic of celeb twin births on DivineCaroline.com (http://www.divinecaroline.com/22099/70924-celebrities-twins-). Initially, I was just as intrigued as anyone else, but found there was a bit more science to it than you may think. And, for the record, boy/girl twins make up the majority of all twin births world wide. Kinda interesting.
I nanny for 3 month old fraternal twin girls who are sweet as can be! There are days with two babies the same age where it seems like someone is crying every 15 minutes of the entire 9 hour days. I could think of worse things to endure :-)
