It happens fast.
Eyes shut
Eyes shut
Nose wiggling, sniffing sniffing
Fishing for food.
Breath gasping
Snout snorting
Head bobbling
Mouth open, shut, open, shut
All the senses on the hunt-- For my boob.
When she finds it she attacks.
The gasping stops
and turns to gulps
She settles.
She's happy--Content.
The boob shark found her meal.
If I'm lucky, when she's full--
She'll either be milk drunk
or give me this look:

ReplyDeleteLol! Yes very accurate descriptions. Such a cute picture
ReplyDeleteshe is adorable, and there is something so sweet about that "rootin'" as my hubby's fam calls it. I call it Hungry.
ReplyDeleteFrom your title I thought you were going to say something about biting, luckily I was wrong. My lil man bit from day one and I never knew a baby with gums could hurt so bad.

So, so cute!!!! I love that look and look forward to it after my little one is done nursing as well :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love breastfeeding. It is one of the most precious things that our sweet little babies depend on our bodies for their nourishment. I love the sweet little look on their face as they "root" and while they nurse. Priceless.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new baby. I haven't been to your blog in a while :-)
ReplyDeleteI love when they're searching and they know it's somewhere and they know exactly what they want! I'm also happy to hear things are going so well.
She is so beautiful! You are one lucky mama.
ReplyDeleteBoob shark! That is classic. Your daughter is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the milk drunk look that my son gives me when he's done eating, when he rests his little hand on my breast or holds his little fists up to his mouth when he's sucking. Breast feeding can be painful, full of sleepless nights and leave you feeling like a milk factory. But the closeness, love and connection you feel with your baby highly out weighs all of that. I love my little boob shark! I have been reading your blog for awhile because your due date was close to mine. I had my baby on June 14. It's nice to read about mother's going through the same thing you are.... Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Boob Shark. LOL. That's cute.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is sooooooooooo... cute and beautiful! I love her smile!

ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDelete...stopping by from SITS...
She looks really happy. Sounds like she's a good feeder. Who do you think she looks like? You or dad or a mix?
ReplyDeleteSitsgal stopping by. Oh,I still remember those previous days when Abby was little enough for that. Breastfeeding may have been hard, but it reaped it's own awards. The best one being the sweet content afterwards. Ah, milk drunk. I remember that!^^
ReplyDeleteI'm literally sitting here with my boob shark milk drunk right now. I love this feeling.
