DIY Hairbow Clips: What I'm Making Monday

Ever seen those adorable hair bow clippies? I found a cute shop on Etsy where their bows are all just $1. But before I went crazy I thought I'd try making some of my own and whatdoyaknow... It's way easy!
What you'll need:
Some ribbon that's about 3/8in wide
Metal 2 prong clips
Hot glue
Scissors
Lighter (to defray/seal the ends of the ribbon)

Step 1: Glue ribbon around and inside the prong clip

Step 2: Cut a piece of ribbon about 2in long and glue the two ends together so it makes a circle.

Step 3: Glue the middle of that circle together by placing a dab of glue on one end then squeezing it together.

Step 4: Glue the pinched circle to the metal prong covered in ribbon.
Step 5: Cut a 1 inch piece of ribbon, wrap it around the pinched part of the bow and glue it to the top inside part of the clippie.
TADA!! Her first Pony tail!

What do you think? I went crazy and made all sorts of Halloween ones that I forgot I made until Halloween night but oh well, there's always next year.
Two people who comment on this post before next Monday (November 8th) will win a clippie of their choice. You can choose one of these, or I have lots of other colors of ribbon if you have another color in mind.

If you follow my blog or link up to What I'm Making Monday below, let me know in another comment as an extra entry!

Winner from last week's WIMM: #22 April! Email me back and I'll send you the tutu dress!

Those are really cute! Stella needs to get a little more hair before she can wear them, but my big girls love pretty hair clips. I think I'll make a few. Thanks for sharing!

Haha wow, I did the exact same thing as you!!I tried bows upon bows because my little girl has a lot of hair like Lil' J but it is straight so they just slide out..! Until I saw those alligator clips covered with ribbon. They work SO well! So I thought.. I can make those! I do more of the plain ones and do the bows a bit different so I'll have to try them out like yours.

Aww! I always wondered if it were easy to do. And it is! I will definitely have to try to make some for my baby girl!

Lil' J is just too cute and rockin' that clippie! :)

So cute! My 2 year old barely even has enough hair to hold a clippie, and look at that baby!

Oh, it looks so cute on her! I still remember Layla's first pony tail! More like a piglet tail, but I was so proud!!! LOL. Sign us up. Although Layla's curlz would probably swallow that slippie whole!!!!! You just wait....I need one of your flower headbands. That came tame those curlz!!!!!

I love making hair clips too, they are addicting! I tried linking a fabric flower tut. that I thought you might like, but for some reason it showed up twice. Sorry about that.

It's so cute! Where did you find the metal clips?

I just love the little alligator clip style hairs because unlike the scrunchy kind or those other bows you don't have to worry about them getting stuck in their hair. I made Moo some Hello Kitty and flower ones.

I'm really excited to make these myself but I can't find those metal prong clips. Where did you get yours?
